Volunteering Roles

Anyone is more than welcome to apply to volunteer at ACE, whether you are a newly graduated veterinarian or someone with a real passion for animals. We need practically minded people with the desire to help and get stuck in, in every way possible.

We do ask you to get involved and fundraise for ACE prior to travelling out to Luxor. Depending on the duration of your stay we ask you to fundraise accordingly:
2-4 weeks - £5005 weeks - £600, 6 weeks - £700, 7 weeks - £800, 8 weeks - £900, 9 weeks - £1000, 10 – 15 weeks - £1500.
We will of course help you in any way that we can to help fundraise for us, please send for an information pack for plenty of ideas, tools and support in fundraising.
Many of our volunteers find this very rewarding to fundraise for ACE prior to coming out as it gives them the chance to tell their friends, family and work colleagues all about ACE and often they get them involved too, and their friends and family know far more about what they are about to set out to do in Egypt!
Veterinarians
We need Equine and small animal vets. Small animal especially at the time of writing, as we need to help develop and strengthen this side of the hospital. The position will suit open minded hard working people. A few years experience is preferred, however, new graduates are also welcome.
Vets are required not only to help with the cases, but to provide CPD and to continue to broaden the resident vets knowledge.

Veterinary Students
We welcome veterinary students from the 4th year above. We find that students in their clinical year's benefit a lot more than those in the lower years, and it is a good chance for you to get good hands on experience.
Lower years are also welcome but you will be more involved with the husbandry side of things. Confidence around all animals is essential as a lot of them are dangerous to handle, so a high level of competence is required. We ask students to raise approximately £500 or more to bring out with them to the centre, and where possible to bring items from our wish list, bandaging and veterinary supplies which we are always in need of.

Volunteer (Long Term)
We are in need of long term volunteers. People who are dedicated enthusiastic and passionate about animals. The advantage to us of long term volunteers, whether they commit to so many days a week, or full time for a month, 3 months, 6 months, or more, it enables us to train the volunteers up to conduct tours of the centre, and more in-depth tasks.
We would hope to utilise your personal strengths and qualifications wherever possible to maximise your time and help to us.
