Camels

Camels are amazing animals, and nothing else is quite like them here in Egypt.  The Camel is an expensive animal to buy and own in Egypt.  They are, however, well suited to the terrain, heat and long days without water, so we do not often see them at the ACE hospital.

They also have an extremely stubborn nature and a long memory!  Therefore, if we do see a Camel it is usually for mange or an abscess, but once the Camel has visited our centre for treatment, it remembers, and the owners can rarely get it through the gates again!

This is one of many reasons why a veterinary mobile street clinic would be advantageous to our work.
