Wish List
We need so much in Luxor that we just cannot get here in Egypt. If you would like to fund-raise for a specific item, or could bring things with you for the animals when you visit Luxor, then this is just some of what we really need.
They are not in any order of importance, and the list is far from complete. It is difficult for us to receive items through the post, so please contact us if you can donate some items, but are not visiting Luxor, as we have various collection points. If in any doubt about whether we could use any items or how to get them to us please do contact us here.
| Wormers | For Cats, Dogs, Kittens & Puppies. |
| Lead Ropes | For the donkeys' and horses' head collars. |
| Animal Treats | For the cats and dogs. This helps us to make treatment a positive activity, as well as helping to catch injured strays or free roaming animals. |
| Bandages (Urgent) | Any crepe or Cohesive, bandage - often known as Vetwrap. This is impossible to get out here in Egypt. You can help, and perhaps you know a nurse or hospital worker that can help also, but the bandages need to be brought in a suitcase, and not posted. Cohesive bandages are best, as they do not slip. |
| Towels | Any size, from Hand Towels to Bath Towels. These are used for all sorts of things, including our small animals. Please do not bring hotel towels - please search your airing cupboard!! |
| Fly Fringes | Fly fringes of small or medium size are always put to good use to help keep the flies off wounds, and to stop them bothering our in-patients who are already coping with enough. |
Frontline Spray/Spot-On | We are always in need of plenty of Frontline spray or Spot-On treatments for the irradication of Fleas, Ticks and Lice on dogs and cats, kittens and puppies. It is also used for tick infestations on the horses and donkeys. |
| Head Collars | ***** CURRENTLY URGENT - We have none! *****Only foal, pony and cob sizes are suitable, as the full size ones are too large for Egyptian horses, and of course, for donkeys. |
| Bits | Horse bits of 4 inch and under. Snaffles, gentle bits, or foal bits ideally. We do need these, but due to their weight, please only get as many as you or a friend can bring over. |
| Duct Tape | ***** CURRENTLY URGENT ***** Duct tape (or Gaffa tape) is very good for holding hoof treatment in place, and we use a lot of it! |
| Dog Collars & Leads | Collars are needed mainly in a small size, as the dogs here are generally not very big, and should not be choke chains. Leads are also desperately needed. |
| Blood Machine | This will have to be bought in Egypt - so it can be serviced and we can buy the necessary cartridges for it. |
| Ice Packs | Whether these are specifically for horses legs, to ice wounds, and swellings, or the soft ones used for human necks or injuries, which we can use to wrap around and ice almost anything to reduce swelling or bleeding, we have numerous places we need to apply ice to, and as you can imagine they melt quite quickly out here, so we need a good constant supply in our freezer. |
| Brushes | Grooming equipment for all animals. |
| Suitcase Space! | If you are coming to Luxor and have some extra space to fill in your luggage, please let us know with as much notice as possible, so we can try and get some of the things that have been collected up for us in the UK to you, to bring out for us when you come to visit. |
| Money! | Whilst this may sound obvious, this is the best way to help us, it is light to carry in your case! We can also increase the amount you donate if you are a UK tax payer as we can claim Gift Aid, and we can immediately put it to use in exactly the area most in need within our centre here in Luxor. |
UK Wish List
Display Board Stands - to help us at fundraising events to enable us to display literature about the centre. Are you a Company who makes them, or do you know someone who works at one. Could your Company donate us some display boards? Does your Company or organisation no longer use theirs? We could really put them to very good use if so.
Print Companies: If you are a Print Company and would like to help us with our relatively small low cost printing requirements, preferably by donating so much per year, or allowing us a lovely discount, we would be very grateful.
Banner Companies: We would love to have a few 'ACE' banners for our fundraising events, would your Company be able to donate us a few roller banners to help draw attanetion to us at shows and events?
LARGE FUNDRAISING PROJECTS
Isolation Stable
We are in desperate need for an Isolation Stable, so that highly infectious cases can be kept away from our other in-patients, it could also be used as a quiet area for our Tetanus patients. If you would like to help us fund raise specifically for this, please contact us. When sending your donation, please state clearly how you wish the donation to be used.
Linear Probe
If anyone knows of a linear probe that would fit a Pie medical 200 ultrasound machine, we would be extremely grateful, as we see a lot of suspected soft tissue causes of lameness that this would enable us to diagnose.
Veterinary Medical Equipment
There is plenty more veterinary medical equipment which we need to be able to treat the animals and diagnose their conditions quicker and more easily. If you could donate some medical equipment to us, or would like to donate some money towards some items we desperately need, please contact us.

We are always short of suntan and after-sun lotions, they are used on animals as well as ourselves whilst we treat the animals!
Magazines and paperbacks are sold to bring in much needed funds, so after you have read your ‘holiday book’ perhaps you could donate it to us.
